I've always liked the look of the 79 to 83 trucks with the round headlights and fender flares. But in this part of the country those trucks are hard to come by. If you do find one, its usually rusted beyond repair.
I was thinking about getting some 1983 fenders (aftermarket), grille and headlights (ebay), and installing them on my 1989 pickup. I know that they will not fit correctly, but I would like to see how much work it will take to do this. Then I was going to get another set of fenders and cut the flare off and have it welded to the side of my bed to try to duplicate the look of the 1983.
Is this possible or

It's probably possible, but expensive/time consuming and it might not come out right.

Honestly I wouldn't waste your time. For the time and money it would take to make it look half way decent you could do something better, but thats just me. Just buy an older truck from somewhere. Solid Axles!

i always thought the 83 and older trucks look pretty much like 89-95 trucks anyway. almost the same flares stock if they are both 4x4s
