my 86 toyota pickup is carburated i just rebuilt the carb . it runs good just if i get in mud or try to go up hill in 2wd or 4high it always wants to flood out and die but if i put it in 4low it does fine i can park on a steep hill and it runs fine is there any why to fix it where it won't flood out in 2wd and 4high?????

my only guess would be that the reason that 4low works is because your at a higher RPM also what size tires ya got? i got 35" on the stock 4.10's and i hit mud n 4-HI im ok al long as im at speed but if im going slow she just bogs down

I would double check the float level in the carb is set right and the fuel pump return to the tank isn't blocked. Also, is there a shim between the fuel pump and the head and have you checked the fuel pump outlet pressure?
yea i got to adj. the float level cause it's running a lil high but naww i haven't got as far as checkin my fuel pressure yet and whats the shim for if i was to have one ? and how would i check the return line i guess i should take it off the tank huh ?? and i'm running 33x12.50
