Electrical Radiator Fans

Anyone have any recommendations or experience with putting a electrical fan into a 82 Hilux?

My radiator has cracked and I have to pull and replace it so I am thinking about going to a electrical radiator fan and I am just looking for any information you guys might have.

Thanks in advance!

This has been covered many times, do a search and you will find all the information you need.

would the taurus fan mod actually work with an 82? I know it will work on the 86-95 ones. Although I am sure any aftermarket electric fan setup would work as long as you follow the directions on the kit. :D

Could you give me the search parameters you used? Cause I tried 3 different searches and I did not find what I was looking for.

I wired up my electric fans on my Camaro to a switch so i can flip them on for regular driving and flip them off for racing for more power. The switch is wired directly to the battery so they will stay on even if the car is off. If you dont wanna worry about doing it that way, you could wire them to, lets say the cig lighter so they are always on when the truck is on.

This is exactly why I asked the broad question about the electric fan. Yeah I mean I can always go get a electric fan kit and bolt it in there. I am looking for cheap mods that are tried and true. I can't find the specs on the 86 and up radiators if anyone could chime in on the mercury swap for a older hilux that would be great.

I am going to do more research if I figure out something good I will do a write up for future reference.

Use a 2 speed Taurus fan with a dc controller.

Tons of info on here and Pirate.

or you could get tricky with it like i did and run constant power to your elec fan and run a 3/8npt temp switch that closes at 185 deg f and use it to switch your ground. then you never have to worry about them staying on and draining your battery incase you forget. and they won't run constantly and burn up the motor.
