So i finally finished my rear bumper now. Its amazing how much longer stuff takes to do when you have to keep on helping other people with their projects... For the rear bumper I started with some 2x6 rectangle tubing and and slanted the bottom a little on each side. Then capped the ends and welded on the clevis tow tabs and cut a notch out for the receiver tube. Then cut out some brackets and bracket supports and welded them on... and finally paint.

Good looking bumper. I really like how how you made your brackets for the tow chains. You better be careful, if you keep this type of work up, a lot of people will be hunting you down for their rigs.

Crud that's an awesome front bumper build, like the rear too! I'm like the rest if there are plans for sale, or a pre-cut kit, lemme know, i'd buy. Heck i'm way down in texas, but i'd pay upto $600+shipping for a fully built front bumper. Not sure how i'd get it on my '88 hilux, especially where ya had to weld on the 2 extra mounts. Anyways GREAT job, and ty for such detailed pics during the builds. :D

Thanks for the nice comments everybody! My truck is for sale now, but i am keeping my front bumper to put on my 4runner sorry... Rear bumper stays with the pickup though. I have been really busy with work lately so I still don't have a set of plans put together, but I will post here and let you guys know when I get them done.

Did you reinforce either the front and/or rear frame before mounting the respective bumpers? If so, then how?

On the front bumper, why did you not include the D-ring/clevis mounts as per your original design?
