BLING BLING modified TJM

After working on a solution to make these things work with the stock wiring, I finally figured it out!

today I welded in the square holes of the TJM-15 bumper turn signals and fitted the sequential LED units, which use a standard oval openning.

Here's a few shots showing one in action

neat!

Very nice.

Now you will get bombarded with how you did it and where the parts came from.

As always, very clean !!!!

cool!

did you modify the wings to follow the lines of your fenders? looks really nice.

Had to do that almost right away, with the wider fenders the bumper looked wierd. Fabricated wings then welded them on, also put a bevel on them as well. Here's the thread about it.

To fill the hole, I purchased a oval light mounting plate, then used it as a template to cut the filler pieces out. After welding them in place, I scribed a line where I needed to cut excess material off. I will be installing 3" fog lights next to them once they arrive, so I made sure to leave room for them.

As for getting them to work....."That Proprietary information" NOT!......lol
I had to replace the factory flasher unit with one that could be easily modified to ignore the burned out bulb circuit. An aftermarket EP35 Triton unit did the trick, cut pin 7 on the IC and everything works perfectly. The rate of the flasher can be adjusted by changing one of the resistors, this made it possible to time the on cycle, long enough to have all 5 arrows sequence. for more info on the flasher go here

bruce told me about this mod a while ago. knew this day was coming, and now here it is. i promised myself i wouldn't cry *tear* haha

neat mod. i'm content with the stock tjm lights, but i guess if i ever destroy/water damage them, these fancy things are something i'd look into..

I purchased mine off eBay for $105 but here's where I had planned on getting them from; http://www.vehiclelight.com/9556.html. Then another $8 for the bracket to use as a template...... I bit pricey, but it's about the BLING!

I saw them on a trash truck in my neighborhood, that gave me the original idea. I then did an extensive search on the net, til I finally found them.

That's real close to the actual rate even! Nice job Charles...... Yea I know you did it to see how they would look for your rig..... Only took me 2 hours to install........

there's also a 3rd wire that can be attached to the parking lights, I may hook this up as well....
