Any experience on the newer models? JSB is looking at a 93 w/ 94k on it.

Have you ever done a tub replacement instead of just that particular panel? I've been thinking about it on my 80, but am not sure if I can get the same satisfaction out of just replacing the bad panels. You know, rear quarters, rockers and cargo area, the usual spots.

thanks,

Doug

:bounce: That's right!!! I test drive it tomorrow. If everything goes as planned I'll be driving it next week. Then the :welder: work starts. I plan on getting a small loan since I won't have enough cash. Plus a little left over for the springs, shock, sliders, ARBs, and the MTRs. I'll save for the rest. I'll need a little jump start though to satify the hunger.:D

Proud new owner of a 73 FJ-40 Cruiser here.

02Runner 08-25-2003 05:25 PM

You know I wish we could get YT members that own Lc's to respond more favorably toward the cruiser section. I am convinced that there are no better Forum members on any board than YT.

I am also glad to hear that you have a 'new" 40. These things are what made Toyota the name it is today.

Yota Tech is "Da Bomb" or something like that!!

Happy cruisin'

Doug M.

maybe we can post a members LC readers ride section if HBoss or someone is up to hosting it........that'd be cool.

customcruiser 08-29-2003 06:04 AM

have you guys checked out ih8mud.com -- its the $h!t for anything you need to know about the LC. yotatech seams geared towards the 4Runner -- and no forum is better:D

02Runner 08-31-2003 01:29 PM

I regularly frequent IH8Mud, theres a ton of useful info on that site. I just wish everyone was as light hearted and happy as YT. In fact this is the only board I really post on. Sometimes I will throw out a question on Ultra150.com, but I don't read to see how everyones weekend was and/or if they're still having that problem or whatever.

YT rules, but I agree IH8mud has everything a cruiserhead needs. they are cool too by the way.

Happy Labor Day weekend guys.

I have a 1975 FJ40 that is very far from being roadworthy. I am slowly bringing it back to life.

Thats a good project. Painful at times but fun!

man, I can't believe how many 80's there are. :eeek:

I'm lucky to be a member of the 80's cool forum- even though I don't one a 80. Actually I met the guys at an event and all the LC guys are REALLY awesome. They wheel the hell out of 'em and have some wicked, wicked mods done to them.

Alvaro (his FJ80 is called "LA CABRA") is a super guy that I kinda hung with at the LC event. Reall great guy. Check out his site-good stuff (he used to own a 40 too)

DD is a 98 4runner, and have been working on my FJ40 (1973) for the last couple of months. 327 SBC, York, dual batteries, all done by previous owner. I finished stripping and repairing the interior, and sprayed it with bedliner. Its coming along pretty good so far. Just put in a Edelbrock Q-jet carb, so its actually running now, which is a bonus....

Bought an FZJ80 94 LC non locked a few months ago. Haven't looked back since.

NorCalDoug 08-16-2004 02:18 AM

I've had my FZJ80 for about 3 1/2 years now. The wife's 80 has been in our family for about 8 months.

New to the forum....

I own a 69 and a 77 FJ40s
The 69 is out of service for brake issues (4 drums). I'm Looking into adding a power steering kit to the 77. Found a strictly bolton kit from Jtoutfitters for about $900. Wanted to know if any of you 40 owners have done this and how is it working out?

Brendan 08-21-2004 06:15 PM

78 fj40 see sig

jefferson-mo 08-24-2004 05:12 PM

1984 FJ60 here....had it about a year, bought it in Seattle Labor Day '03. 230,000 miles going strong, I might be the 3rd owner.
No mods yet, want to do a 1FZ-FE engine swap from A FZJ80(with a Supercharger) :dunno:
and a H55F 5 speed too :chairfall:

Also I'm gonna get Powertrax lockers and a mild lift eventually

New to the forum, might as well be my first post here...

1990 FJ62, clean as a whistle - rebuilding the front end though.

Spend most of my time fixing the GF's 'Runner though, just trying to stay ahead of the rust on that one... :pat:
