Swaping Air intake and Battery places - 22RE?

I plan to swap the air intake location with the battery, and put the battery where the stock intake was, but i have one question. The cable that connects to the Air Flow sensor is to short to reach to the other side. What do I do? Thanks.

I'm just going to cut mine and splice in some wires to lengthen it.

So, Just sticking in some copper wire will do the trick?

They have a tech article here on doing this project but it doesnt talk at all about lengthning the cable.

The biggest problem is that it is a lot of wires, 10 or 12 if I remember right, so you have to keep track of them all, but I think it's really light wiring. If you've got a decent junk yard around there just get an extra one from them and cut it with as much wire as possible, then splice that into the original harness.

Dont you need to worry about signal degradation? Because of longer wires?

Given this mod has been done before I would suggest that voltage drop is of little concern.
If you are worried though, you could re-wire the whole length to the sensor with larger gauge wire.
