Stubbs Welding rock slider reveiw????
To all the Yota tech folks who bought a set of sliders or the "one" lucky person who won a set from last years raffle here----- I am just wondering if anyone is ever going to do a write up on our sliders?
Please somebody I am begging you:baby: :D Just curious if someone has any plans to do one is all. Hopefully we will be able to give another set away here this year. Happy new year, Richard Stubbs :welder: PS- mods if this is not appropriate delete it , and PM me. |
I forgot to mention that it never seemed that neccessary to have the reveiw but with the search funtion not going back into last year you cannot find any information about us.

Hi Richard-
I don't know what type or review you want. All I can say is that you saved me a hell of alot of money .. those sliders pay for themselves over and over. No dent's in the sliders yet, a few paint scuffs and some minor rust ... but thats about. thanks again. |
Guy's, here is the section for the reviews.
https://www.yotatech.com/~corey/arti...z_round_up.htm It's listed in the Community section, then "Yotatech on the web" where we more than just the forum here. We don't have a submission yet on Stubb's Sliderz, and one would be nice. |

Corey I should have probably emailed you first to see if posting this was appropriate & OK with you. Sorry if I may have stepped out of line. Also you should consider another raffle at sometime or another as I am way into giving for good causes! Take care everyone, Richard Stubbs |
Richard, you were not out of line at all.
Perfectly OK to post that here. I just mentioned the ongoing article we have here as some may not know about it. I know there are several on the forum here with your sliderz, and I really would like to get a submission of them to add to that article. Another raffle would be great. I'll have to get with Chris and see what we can come up with. |

Here's an idea for ya guys!
Give me a pair of the sliders, I use them for a while and then write up a complete web page reviewing and critiquing them...and of course after I'm done, I could just keep them because of all my hard work on the reviews and suggestions :D How about that one? :drink: Fink:devil: |
Dude...
Your sliders ROCK, and YOU rock even MORE! :) They were the first real mod/addition to my rig, and in the 7 months that I've been on the trail, they've been whacked, buried in mud, screeeeeched on rocks and stumps, and haven't shown any signs of doing anything but continuing down the same lines for years to come. As I meet new people, they always ask about the sliders. I drop your name, point them to the web site and generall say "just do it". Kickin'! I've had a page up since June with mostly pics: http://www.midiwall.com/4Runner/sliders.html |
Nice thread, now I`m gassing for one of these. Question is which one? Hmmm....:dunno:

Hmmm....:dunno: Also keep watching this thread as I would imagine many of our customers will start posting. Richard Edit- I just noticed you are from HI. I have sold a set to someone there , and becuase it was a shorter standard style (ie shortwheelbase like your 4runner) I was able to save him alot by persuading USPS to take it via boat instead of UPS or fedex whom require air service only which is big $$$$. Something to think about. |

That's all that anyone can ask for. |
ive had mind on for a while. theyve only really been used once thsu far but it was definitely a big one. saved me some body damage and such. i would defintitely do business again with r. stubbs for those of you reading

Just from reading this thread I can already tell that Mr. Stubbs is a great man to do business with. I can't wait til I can be one of your customers hopefully in the near future! I'll be looking for the next Stubbs Sliders Giveaway anxiously...:D
Thanks Richard! Fink:devil: |
Ok, I can't pass up a second chance at a great deal here. Are most people getting the 30 degree cant on these? why/why not?
can you still stand on them to get at the roof at 30? or would the 15 degree be necessary for that? 97 runner ltd if that factors into peoples thinking. Hmmm. According to my own little rules I better finish my last couple mods before these arrive... time to get to work! Eeep! Oh tomorrow is going to be fun! Thanks Richard! |
95% of all orders are for the 30 degree. The 15's are great if you are more concerned with them being used as steps. Both work well as sliders it basically comes down to this
The 30's sit closer to the body, and are awkward to use as steps. They also tend to hit things on the trail less often since they are tucked in alittle. The 15's are definately better "steps" than the 30's however on thight & narrow trails they get "used" :D more often. hope this helps |

Fink:devil: As I mentioned in another post - I would pay extra $$ if it meant getting stuff that he fabricated (don't take that as an excuse to charge me "extra shipping and handling" costs please ;)). |
Richard, The sliders are holding up great! I have an install write-up here: http://www.geocities.com/transalper/sliders.htm Corey is welcome to use it for the slider roundup.
My daughters really think they are cool to use as a step/jungle gym. :) http://pics.montypics.com/transalper...idsonskids.jpg Pic taken at the confluence of the Powder River and the Missouri in Montana this summer. Since you have some slow time this month, we got a small project for you. :) Hows about you make some rear bumper armor/sliders to protect the corners of the rear bumper? Here's a recent discussion:https://www.yotatech.com/forums/show...threadid=23682 Something simple that will bolt to the frame and integrate with the factory receiver hitch would be perfect. I'd be willing to be a guinea pig and test it out on my truck! |
