Which Redline fluids to use where?

It seems that every store I call has no idea what kind of fluid to use in my tranny/diff/transfer case. The truck is a 2000 4Runner LTD. I was given several choices by both shops I called, and I can't find any relevant info on this site or redline.com. Can someone please help me out and tell me what exactly do I need?

look under 'specifications' in the back of your owner's manual

diff and tranny normally use gear oil, and the tranny uses gear oil or atf depending on auto or stick...

From what I have gathered so far, I need Redline ATF for the tranny, and the Redline gear lube 75/90 for the transfer cases and the diffs. Now if I could only figure out the quantities - all the sources I am going to (shops and write ups) are listing different quantities. Help please!

IIRC, my xfer case takes ATF.....

it really depends on the truck.... if i had a tcase, it would take gear oil.... my stick tranny is supposed to have gl4 not gl5 gear oil while the rear is supposed to have gl5 gear oil

I have a t-case, and unless the last three people I talked to are dead wrong, I need the gear oil.

Did you read up on Bob_98SR5 write up--- the type & quantity of gear lube you require is correct on his charts with the exception of the Auto Tranny which uses ATF 16 qts. if doing a complete flush 2 - 3 qts. if just drain & fill-- they are the same listed on the 2000 4Runner owners manual that I have... the brand (flavor) of lube that you want to use is the only thing you have to consider-- I use AMSOIL... but there are many other good synthetics... :)

So... I'm guessing it's safe to say you didn't learn anything from this thread:

I did, and am taking it in for a complete flush tomorrow. I was a bit thrown off by the fact that the shop told me they would use 16qt to do the tranny flush, especially since I got completely different numbers from threads here and other places. Now that it's confirmed, I get to pay $240 for the complete Amsoil tranny flush, and do the rest myself. :(

Thanks for the help keisur and everyone else.
