Gasket
I just got a new set of doug thorley headers for my 94 toy 4x4 with 22re
it was used in good condition. The question I have is do I need a special exghaust gasket or can i use a stock one. clean air in take plenum and made A small difference my gas milage up to 23.4 miles per gallon with corrected milagedue to lager tires. not bad hope get a little more with header. New tail pipe will have to wait a little longer. Just got bfg mudders only got 1 pair working on the other set. |
Are you talking about reusing the gasket?
Probably not a good idea... |

I don't know if this is going to help but when I was going back and forth with LC Engineering they said that everything I needed would be included in the kit. Where are you planning on getting these headers? Summit racing seems to have some pretty good prices.

Have the header on low budget had to get used but in great shape but did not come with gaskets of course or longer studs and nuts.

I can't say that I have the answer about the stock gasket but I've heard a lot of people complaining about gasket issues. Someone threw out the suggestion of going to a copper gasket while someone else mentioned double gasketing.
LC Engineering sells their gaskets for just over $15. Maybe you should see if Thorley sells their gaskets separately? It's got to be cheaper than OEM. |
Just called thorley and asked them the parts says come by and I'll give you one is that great or what. Also asked about nuts we said most peaple reuse the stock ones.
