Engine changeout 5vz-fe
I checked compression and it was okay except for one cylinder was 140. It ran great except for the missing hesitation at WOT. So I went down to the salvage yard on tuesday and got another 5vz-fe for $850 (don't know if that is good or bad-came with harness and alt and coils etc.) on Tuesday and in my spare time will change it out.
The engine has 215K miles and rear oil seal was leaking and the timing belt probably hasn't been changed in a long time too. So, I figured might as well do an engine. Pretty straight forward. Remove battery, various vacuum tubes, fuel hose, upper intake, existing wire harness, starter, exhaust, torque converter bolts, trans to engine housing bolts with long extension, a/c and power steering left in car, motor mounts and she looks ready to remove. Took about 3 hrs. Hopefully can get it in in about 4-5. It is always easier to take stuff off. Here is a cool pic of a rat I found cooking under the intake. http://216.77.188.54/coDataImages/p/...3ratintake.jpg new engine http://216.77.188.54/coDataImages/p/...1newengine.jpg wire harness that came on engine-does anyone know what it fits? http://216.77.188.54/coDataImages/p/...ireharness.jpg |

Anyone know the difference in injectors on the 5vzfe engine?
The new engine came with brown injectors 23250-62040. The old engine had 23250-62030 green light blue injectors. I just left the brown injectors in it. BTW, everything works good and it is much smoother. |
