Diff drop...easiest mod ever!

I spent most of Sunday doing odd jobs on the 4Runner and Camry. On the 4Runner, I replaced the belts, installed a 170° NAPA thermostat, flushed the radiator, drained a few quarts of fluid from the transmission (don't like the looks of the fluid), put in some Sea Foam Trans Tune and a quart of Trick Shift, and then decided to install my diff drop kit since the skid plates were off. It took more time to drain 2.5 qts of fluid from the tranny than it did to install the diff drop. And an impact wrench made removing the old bolts a cinch.

Where did you get the kit and how far did it drop it? Pics? Sounds cool, that would make the supra swap with IFS easier for sure...

I think Alan used my diff drop kit. It provides a 1" drop:

I did indeed use a 4Crawler diff drop.

I just used some 2" zinc plated washers from yard birds with longer bolts. I stacked about 8 washers to give me about an inch. Whole setup cost me under $5 and it's been on for well over a year with no problems at all; rust, loosening, or anything.

As soon as someone can provide me with the specs on the stock diff mount bolts for a 2nd gen (length and dia.) as well as the bolt specs on the sway bar mount brackets (length, dia. and spacing) I can come up with a 2nd gen diff drop kit similar to what I make for the 3rd gens:

Alan-

What do you think of that 170 degree thermostat? I am considering one too before I get my SC'r put in. Thanks.
