vegaskurt: did you check the coils against the color codes? you may have gotten NON TRD 2WD coils. if you did, then they won't lift it at all - like the results you got. i had those before too and they were stiffer, but had no additional lift for the runner.

OK - just so I know how to do this in the future, how do post the pics in the message? I went thru the "manage attatchment" deal and had to resize AND crop the picture to upload. Do you just copy and paste into the message box?

In short...1) Go to www.photobucket.com and start an account. 2) Browse for picture and click submit. 3) Copy and paste the 3rd box into your message on here. |
Looks great jimbob! :great:

I sent bamachem a PM with the pics of my coils.
|
I would be interested to know what is up with that. Its odd one person got good lift and one got almost no lift... this must not be apples to apples...
|
the PM'd pic you sent me was of a set of coils on YELLOW billies. unless the owner changed out his shocks and put the wrong ones on, i'll bet that those are the NON TRD coils. i've had a set and they suck OO compared to the TRD coils and some nice soft OME N91s. the OEM strut for TRD 2WD and 4WD Tundras were RED TRD Billies, NOT YELLOW.

Thanks for clearing this up, I'll edit my first post. Last time I take someones word on tundrasolutions.com.....
To be honest, I am going to leave it as is (for now), the ride is nice, it offroads great and the day star top spacer has me high enough to get 32's now. |
get the color code on the coils and we'll cross check them w/ what we have...
|
Not sure what to call it, but it looks like Red and a salmon/beige color and Blue and that color.
|
here's the pic:
http://kurtandnichole.com/tundra.jpg they're definitely NOT the RED/YELLOW and PURPLE/YELLOW, so, then they're definitely NOT the 2WD TRD Coils... |
Not to hijack this thread, but at what point do you need to start worrying about the trac bar? Sonoran says their trac bar is for 2-3" of lift. As you can see from the pics, I got a solid 2.5" out of the 906s and they haven't been settling that I can tell. http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...n/DSCN1072.jpg
http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...n/DSCN1128.jpg It does kinda look like the axel is shifted to the passenger side, but its hard to tell by how much. What is the difference in eye-eye distance for the Sonoran bar? Am I at a point where I need it? |
Dude, those pics are WAY TOO big...you need something to shift the panhard bar back to its proper angle, whether a bar or a bracket, as both work. Steve will do you right on either.
:guitar: |
My apologies - I forgot to resize them. Won't happen again :nono:
