It's like a Caddy in comfort and has a roll down rear window(for the pup?) ... and that V8 sure has pep... 48K miles on it! :con: hahaha. For a family, it's really nice having the 4 door....

2nd gen tundras nice but I see too many coming in the shop when they 1st came out with tranny problems. There are other little issues with quality of interior parts make me not consider them. The 07+ crew max is nice and the 1st gen full 4door is nice but too big for what I plan to do. My family right now is just one gf and three dogs. Access cab is plenty for now and will fit in my garage once its decked out

Theyrs a guy in town who has a 1st gen tundra with over 350k and the engines supposedly never been tapped into. He only has driven it on highway for his work and is a conservative driver. Thats amazing in my book!!

that is great to hear. the 4.7 v8 is a really good engine. i have yet seen one come in the shop for any engine internal failures as long as you keep up with basic maintenance and mainly the t belt water pump since this is a interference engine. my dads tundra he got used from a friend around 180000 and i know it hasnt been opened

heres proof a mileage

Nice, you just sold me a bit more on a 2UZ swap over a 1UZ.

Can't go wrong with any of toyotas v8 engines. The 2uz is 4.7 vs the 1uz at 4.0 plus the 2uz has a strong block and ment to turn at low revs

Red Wagon 04-26-2013 09:53 AM

In addition to the power I like that the 2UZ is a newer model engine. A bit more refinement in the design I assume.

The 2UZ to the 1UZ is what the 5VZ is to the 3VZE correct?

1uz 4.0 alumiumn block was used in Lexus cars while the 2uz 4.7 case iron block was used in trucks and SUVs. Basicly the same engine but different pistons made it a different litter size. Cast iron was used for better durability and reliability

with 20 plus trails closed, basically every single one closed till next month or longer. i was able to find Jose Basin trail with gates open and offically opens may 2. i decided to go exploring. was pretty fun. was only 3 or so spots to really flex your rig out and are minutes apart from each other on the trail. didnt get any cool flex pix as i was expecting to find more spots to hang out at. oh well next time since its the closest one to my house that i can just go for a shake down / poser flex shots haha

not much of an update. i did redo my air hose in which i used to have to roll down the rear window to get air. with all the dusty trails and if you own a 4runner, you know the rear window gets a health cake of dust/dirt piled up. rolling down the window just cramps it all into the tail gate. i decided to redo the hose in which i comes out the bottom and i am able to grab my hose i leave in the back seat to plug in with a blow gun on it to clean the rear window before access to my gear. as im typing this. i think i already went over this lol
https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.n...88574905_n.jpg

i have also picked up a new tire gauge for quicker air down and up. with just this one gauge i can hook up two tires for deflation and inflation. it also lights up

https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.n...06876300_n.jpg

decided to compare my 1st gen to a 5th gen haha

i finally find a set of rims. they are just like outlaws II but i think it was before the design was sold to american racing brand. these are pretty rare imo coming in at 15x8.5 and made in Taiwan. these thing sat under a tree for idk how long but was extremely dirty and caked with dirty and brake dust. i didnt take any more pictures but the back side is still kinda dirty and that was after hours of cleaning. Best part of this deal was it only costed me $25 plus gas. had to drive to the hills to pick them up. wasnt too far.

also my coworker years ago told me about the elocker and it got the ball rolling for me and i beat him to it. since than he finally decided to do his. we swapped in a modified rear axle with elocker for less down time. we also threw in a lift kit, LC springs and spacers in rear and Bj spacers up front. OME shocks all around

Nice score on the rims. Want to make double the profit? haha jk

The new lift setup looks good. Are those 33 a/t. Or 31's?

ToyoTech559 05-18-2013 11:17 PM

finally got some wheeling time in. learned about an entirely new way/trail on bald mountain and it was a blast. flexing the crap out of the new OME torsion bars. also if i keep doing what i been doing to the rear leaf, it might break soon. idk it gets neg arch when fully stuffed lol

all the off road trails are so close to me for living in the city, its really easy to go for an entire day trip and be home for dinner lol
the green x cab made it up that area a few times but he lost his 1st gear so he couldnt crawl as slow.

the tire carrier is the factory 2nd gen 4runner carrier he got from the junk yard but its installed to his custom rear bumper and rear side protection. ill try to get more pix if your interested
