alright yall i need some help from anybody with weld on rock rings.
i need my tires balanced but i was told by the shop in town that they cannot balance my tires once i have rock rings welded onto the bead of the rim. have any of yall with rock rings been able to have your tires balanced by a shop? the things on the rims are rock rings Attachment 200161 |

BB's. Might need a little more though for the same size tire to offset the weight of the ring.
then you got these, basically the same thing: http://www.innovativebalancing.com/ http://www.counteractbalancing.com/c...echnology.html |
What the heck is that cage made out of?

Couldn't the weighs just get put on the other side of the wheel as well? When I went to have my tires mounted they asked me if i wanted the weights inside or outside and I chose inside so they're protected.

you deff cant do a dynamic wheel balance but im sure they can static balance it which puts weight only on the inside of the wheel. it only prevents verticle movement from high and low spots in the tire though. wont help with the ride though if you have run-out(like the tire not seated compleatly.) not that you you should notice running them trail killers lol. my wheels are static balanced and i have no issues, but im a stickler on keeping my front end aligned and tires rotated used to work at a tire and lube + been changing heavy equipment tires since i was 15 with my uncle before for i joined the army.
if they tell you that the rock ring is blocking the wing-nut tell them to stack the cones |
you can run dynamic balance on beadlocks. http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=665854
You have any idea how much weight you'd have to put on the other side of that ring? Dynabeads etc etc will compensate for any movement of the tires whether it be out of round, cupping, chunking, tire spin on wheel and even bent wheels. (within reason of course.) Wheel weights will not compensate for chunking, tire spin on wheel and a bent wheel. Every time you air down and the tire spins on the wheel or you tear a piece of tread of the tire, you will have to re-balance the tire if using static weights. |
he says they'r welded on, and ya i understand how much weight. but it prolly wont improve the ride any trying to balance them considering theyr thornbirds
