Stud messed baddddd
 

So I fd up this stud pretty bad and dont know if i have to scrap the whole thing or will silicone fill it up and keep it sealed or should i put JB weld on there then put the silicone on top of it. The pic where taken with my phone so they may suck ass. The Third pic is a drill bit and how deep the hole is so if i could get some help and if you want to bash on me about it go for it lol.

For those who still care to answer your look at the end result of a bad stud removal its started as a flat with the surface stud bolt i didnt punch it first and it turned into this horriable mess up see now i was able to drill through it but the stud remover broke off in the hole and when i should have stoped i just kept going to until nothing was happening. The three pics are the hole its self and by using a drill bit how deep it is I know these are kinda newbie questions but any help would be awesome.

what part is the stud stuck in? can you take it to a machine shop and have it removed?

Yeah the stud is still stuck in there i dont know of any shops around here trying to keep it cheap lol. But if i can just fill it with something and it wont leak thats all that matters lol

WHAT is going to leak from WHAT PART? No one can tell what that picture is of.

Ill get better pics if i can but its a broken stud on my axle housing where the front diff bolts to the axle housing that ring. Would have helped if i said that before.

If that's on the upper part of the housing, you could probably run it if you accepted a little bit of a leak, but if that's on the lower part of the housing, you'll need to drill it the rest of the way out, probably fill the hole with weld, then drill and tap a new hole.

Have you got the other studs out? If not, don't use that method again, whatever it was. Try double nutting the rest.

I got the rest of the studs out that was the only on that broke of i got a buddy thats going to fix it for me. Thanks for the help

drill it out and put a bolt through it like a trail gear stud Eliminator kit..

Yeah, thanks Dropzone. I was in a hurry and didn't have pics handy of the double nutting technique.

ill try and rember that. I went to Ace hardware and picked up what trail gear kit i got front and rear for 53 bucks thats washers, nuts and allen head bolts much cheaper than buying to kits.

I went to Ace for my diff studs, too. Goofy thing about the nuts is that you'll need a 13 mm socket/wrench instead of 12 mm.

Hmm weird I use a 12 on mine I think. Its a M8 nut I just ask the guy there and he hooked me up with everything even a tap for it.

Huh, maybe it's just my local Ace, seeing as I'm kind of in the middle of nowhere. Anyway, glad you got it sorted out

Just my .02, but pb blaster and a good ol fashioned torch have gotten me through more than my fair share of broken studs
