Puget Sound Toyota Fest

http://pstoc.org/board/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=5087

IT'S HERE AGAIN!!!!

You've all been wondering, some of you had given up hope but OH NO!! PSTOC.org has come through for all you Toyota nuts again! So if your car is perfect, half apart, unpainted, blindingly shiny, so muddy you don't remember what the orginal color is, bottom line if it's a Toyota, Lexus, Scion or just has a few Toyota parts this is your show! So enough with the pleasantries lets get right to the fun fun details

BIG Question, WHEN?
October 3rd 2010
Roll-in at 10am
Show 11am-4pm

So where is this largest annual gathering of Toyota's in the North West? Glad you asked.

The Brand New Griots Garage location in Tacoma!
3333 South 38th Street
Tacoma, WA 98409
Interactive Map Click Here

We over filled the last location lets see if we can do it here too! Much more parking and it will be designated parking based on Model so be sure to get in your preregistration in!

Speaking of Preregistration this year if your for sure coming you can submit your info for free here. http://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/akV4aXybaAT
This will help get everything organized for a better event for you.

Now you'll still have to pay to get your car entered in the show and as always we offer a discount if you pay before the show.

Preregistration price is:
$12 with a NEW/UNOPENED Toy donation for Toys for Tots.
$10.80 w/Toy if your a registered Basic Member of PSTOC.
$9 w/toy if your a Silver, Gold or Lifetime member.
(Click here for details http://www.pstoc.org/board/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=4635 Basic membership is only $4 if you donate in September or if your really tight on cash $3 in October but it will expire on January 1st 2011 FYI)

Day of price is:
Non-Members
$15 w/toy
$20 without

What you'll get is a car show unlike any other, there will be games, raffles and gift bags, as well as vendors that'll be glad to help you trick out your ride or just yourself

Side note, due to Washington State gaming laws we will not be selling raffle tickets and sadly there will be no car raffle this year but you will get 2 free raffle tickets with your paid entry and can win more by competing in the games and challenges throughout the day!

I'd like to put out a HUGE THANKS to our sponsors so far this year!

vital22re 08-30-2010 05:14 PM

Thanks for the heads up. What are the catagories?

PSTOC.org 08-30-2010 05:39 PM

Not positive on all of them but for sure Best Old school 4x4, Best New school 4x4 and Best Mud. Let you know if we add any others related to 4x4's. Thinking about adding cleanest motor swap though. :)

Tofer 08-30-2010 08:15 PM

i think its only fair that since every generation of toyota car gets a category that there is more than 4 for ALL of the 4x4 community.

at the minimum

best 4runner new / old
best pickup (pre tacoma)
best tacoma
best mud
most capable
Best carnage or trail-rash

it would be nice to see

Best 1st gen pickup (79-83)
best 1st gen 4runner (84-89)
best 2nd gen pickup (84-89)
best 3rd gen pickup (89-95)
best 2nd 4runner (89-95)
best 3rd gen 4runner (96-02)
best 4th gen 4runner (03-08)
best tacoma
best mud
most capable
best "that didnt come from the factory that way"
Best carnage or trail-rash

also will there be an RTI ramp this year?

PSTOC.org 08-30-2010 08:59 PM

Well the issue with that is cost and if not enough rigs register or worse no rigs of that make register then we just have a random extra trophy. It's a delicate balance when it comes down to catagories but if YotaWorks would like to sponsor 1 or 2 trophies of your choice outside of the 3 I already mentioned that can be worked out :) As far as RTI ramp we would love to have one if anyone has one to loan for the event. Only thing to work out regarding that is what to place under it as to not mess up Griots new, white, concrete lot, safety procedures and liability releases. So feel free to contact me if you have one to loan.

BigBluePile 08-31-2010 07:13 PM

I may not make this due to defending the country that day...

OH and IIRC, plumbrbob might be able to come up with a RTI ramp....

PSTOC.org 09-01-2010 04:28 PM

If I recall Tofer said he could produce one at this years event. Lets see if he's all talk lol

Tofer 09-02-2010 09:59 AM

I never said I had one.. I said we need one or a fork lift but never said I owned one....

DeathCougar 09-02-2010 10:22 AM

01rnrgirl 09-10-2010 10:41 AM

Kris and I are now pre-registered for the event :) Yay!! We registered the 01 runner and the 87 runner :)

ok, I have a question.....so, my dad owns a tire shop (S&S Tire Inc)...... I am curious if I am allowed to hand stuff out with their business name on it at Yotafest? Or does the business have to be an actual sponsor of the event in order for me to hand stuff out?

Thanks!! Lisa :)

BigBluePile 09-10-2010 04:48 PM

Hey girl!!! Well, NOW I have to go!!!!

:D

PSTOC.org 09-10-2010 05:41 PM

If you can get him to throw some discount coupons at us for the event, you can hand stuff out and we'll thank his business throughout the day on the PA system. Please make sure to post these types of questions on the official PSTOC thread in the first post. Anyone who is caught handing business related advertising and has not been approved by PSTOC will be asked to leave. Our sponsors have donated alot of time and money to be a part of our show. :)

Speaking of sponsors.

We'd like to welcome GaragePlus to our marry band of enthusiast oriented sponsors!

Plumbrbob 09-10-2010 08:14 PM

I've been wheeling so much I forgot to build the RTI ramp...I'll get on building one if its permitted....I dont see it bieng super tall though since it will have to fit in the back of my pick up truck...I am sure I know where a few sheets of plywood are laying around as well

Tofer 09-10-2010 08:45 PM

I have a 5x8 utility trailer that can be a flat bed if you want me to pick it up... That way it can be taller...

PSTOC.org 09-10-2010 09:40 PM

Sounds great!

That would be great! the problem I was having with moving it in my pick up bed is the width at the tall end would be around 80" I'll call up tacoma steel monday and put in an order

cool on catagories I've got some real nasty cab damage that could win it...... Also I dont see a problem getting the RTI ramp built and tofer has volunteered to haul it for me so I can build it full size....just so you know it will be a 20 degree ramp, 58" tall, 13'4" long, 80" wide at the base at the tall end, with a 20" wide ramp

BigBluePile 09-12-2010 03:18 PM

Nice! :great:

Thanks Rob, can't wait to flex out! :D

I chose to build it at 20 degrees for you man!

later I may modify it to be adjustable to 25 and 30 for the flexy rigs

btw who is going to be the score keeper I'd rather not

BigBluePile 09-12-2010 03:31 PM

meh, all ya need is a tape measure and a calculator right? Easy peezy! :D

(Height of the wheel)/(wheelbase) x 1000=RTI score:D

The distance is measured up the ramp and on the ramp, not to the actual hub of the wheel. That number is the divided by the vehicles wheelbase and then multiplied by 1000 to calculate the average. For example if a vehicle with a 81 inch wheelbase traveled 59 inches up a 20 degree ramp then the RTI would be calculated as: 59 divided by 81 x 1000 = 728 (rounded down). This method of multiplying by the vehicle's wheelbase allows vehicles of different wheelbases to compete with each other on the same ramp.

Sounds like you want to keep score then....I rather spectate then spot, calculate, and record
