Help! Adding Stereo and Speakers
 

First YotaTech Post! I have a 1993 Toyota pickup single cab that I am tierd of not having some sound in when I'm driving to and from work. I have no idea what I am doing when it comes to adding car audio, so have a few questions. I don't need the biggest or baddest system, but want something that will sound decent and is loud/clear enough to cover the noise of my MagnaFlow and headers. :D I am on a fairly tight budget so any recomedations or advice is greatly appreciated.

What is the small box with a green and yellow wire?

Tip #1 DO NOT cut the original stereo plug off of the harness to wire in an aftermarket stereo! spend the extra few bucks to get the pigtail that plugs into it. This will allow you to do all of your splicing on a workbench and not with both hands crammed into the stereo pocket.
Tip #2 If you solder all of your connections you will never have to mess with them again.
Tip #3 Do it right the first time, don't go cheap, choose a quality brand name. They will last longer and you will be more satisfied with the sound and operation. Just pick something with the features you want with easy controls that will fit in the hole. Same with speakers, if you will be playing loud music you need decent speakers or you will blow them out quickly.
