factory/dealer fogs for 97 4runner help

Hey all,

first time posting but a long time reader. I had the fuse blow on the factory/dealer installed fog lights (hella) on my 97 4runner. Anyone know how to get in and replace it? Just thought I'd ask around before i went in there myself.

thanks
Carl

The fuse should be in the fuse panel under the hood. Look at the fuse map underneath the fuse panel cover to see if there is a fuse in the specified position..i think mine is a 5. Just pop out the old one and put in a new one. If you are blowing fuses check all the wiring as there may be a short somewhere.

This is not a fuse in the normal fuse box, but a remotely located (in-line) fuse. it blew because i switched from the dealer installed lights to the Hella Optilux 2020 combo lights. I have them wired to the original switch (using original wires and in-line fuse) so both come on at once and not separately. I just need to put in a higher amp fuse in to solve the problem (I'm guessing). If this should be a big concern for me please let me know and I'll think of something else.

Basically, i need to how, if possible, do i get into and change the fuse in the Hella in-line fuse box. I can't see how to open it without taking it off. I didn't have time to do this before work this morning.

Thanks
Carl

So are both of them not working now or just the Hellas? I am no expert but... you need to evaluate the wiring prior to just upgrading the fuse.
