I agree, to each their own, but 4WD? Seriously? Why? 5spd? I'd really like to ask the guy why he would choose to take that vehicle and lower it when he could just as easily have settled for a chevy blazer or gmc jimmy that wasn't 4WD, at least those look like they were MEANT to be lowered when done right.
I still can't look at that and think it was meant to be that way. |
I forget whose quote I am stealing, but it's like finding the woman of your dreams and giving her a sex change. Sad sad sad...
|
If you think that is a lot of $$, take a look around here and see what people are asking for their junk.
|
HEHEHEHHEHE! its goofy lookin. But then again I suppose everybody has their own thing. It is however a waste of a 4 wheel drive runner though.
|
he might as well have a 2wd though. put it in 4x4 and with those 22's and rubber band tires, he's not going to get any more traction then a regular 2wd lol.

I think it looks pretty good...for a lowered 4Runner, I've seen alot worse. At least the guy had some taste while modding. It may not be what a 4Runner is designed for, but gotta give him props. Not everybody likes wheelin
it should be a 2wd though. |
all i can say is that if seattle wasnt like 3 1/2 hours from here id go check it out.. and reach back and slap him.. then point and laugh at it lol as for the purple hilux.. well see after i got out of highschool i was an aprentice at a shop that built minis ( hydraulic and air suspensions, bodydrops, you name it we did it pretty much) and to be honest.. thats just the tip of the ice berg, people are nuts.. flat out nuts lol
|
im diggin the runner actually it isnt super riced out like i expected. be a decent daily driver but it woulda been better if it was 2wd. As for the purple G ride im sure it rocks with the comodore motor but i've seen better with the lexus 1uz v8 :) that would be a rocket ship.
|
blagh theres another reason i carry a 12 gauge in my back seat.
|
how could you go wheelin with that body kit hanging so low? plus i bet those tires dont allow that soft of a ride offroad. what the hell man?:horse:
|
Other than the rediculously high price tag, I'd buy it. If it was $5000, I'd fly up there, and buy it, since there is not one single "mod" that guy did that isn't completely reversable. Just throw away that body kit, ditch the 22's and air suspension, and put the stock stuff back on, and whataya know, you've got a 3rd gen 5speed 4x4 for cheap.
|
Hell Yeah! I'd wheel that thing just like it sits! Hit the 1st river crossing I came to in 5th gear pinned with the front left wheel lifted up ghetto style! Yo!

That was a joke! And so's that Runner. Remember when guys used to lower their 1 ton dulies?

I still like that runner... I'd suicide the rear doors though and tint the windows. Faux tiger skin inserts and I'd be pimpin' baby yeah!

what are you getting at? sir are you profiling? personally i would be more worried about a Toyota full of rednecks, than a pimped out 4runner with some rich kid in it! |
I like the front bumper on the truck but why lower a truck ??
It's like drinking de-caf coffee or eating fat free ice cream! Doesn't that screw up the 4WD ? |

Oh the 4Runner sorry !
Interesting I was told that lowering a 4WD will screw it up I had a Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 and wanted to take out the factory gap which I did lowered it very little but they warned me I was taking a risk with the AWD is this different ? |
Not really I don't think. The problem with the 4wd lowering is it stresses the CV joints much the same way that over lifting does. You may also run into some clearance issues with the drive shafts but with the fixed diff. position on the independent front axle yotas it should'nt be an issue.
on your awd it was a similar concern with changing the driveline geometry but as long as you were'nt crazy with it I would'nt be overly concerned. |
:king:
I opened up a can'o'worms with this one huh? Remeber it's just my opinion. I think it's silly to take a 4WD truck/suv and lower it. No matter what kind of truck it is. I have nothing against lowering trucks and making them fast. That's why my XRunner is for, but it's 2WD. I agree it could have been much worse. But this just isn't my style. So I thought I would point it out and see what other people though lol. In the end, this guy got more exposure. So I'm sure he's not complaining. Thanks for the laughs though guys! |
