Well, I posted in the intro section about how I used to hang out around the forums and had a 86 toyota pickup several years ago. Today I picked up my 4Runner. 88 4Runner SR5, body is excellent shape, only one small dent above the windshield. Interior is almost perfect and no rust that I can find except a tiny bit by a side window. I paid $2700 for her and she just needs a little TLC. Here it goes, any advice would be great and links are well looked over. I did most of the mechanical work on my pickup and will do the same with my 4Runner.

I need a new drivers side rotor and possible brake bleed. Whenever I push the brakes they go down most of the way, very spongey and there is a side to side shake in the steering. Best to just go ahead and do both rotors at once? How hard is a rotor replacement? Never have done rotors, just brakes.

Driving home tonight the windows were fogging up and doesn't seem to have defrost. Guessing the lever is just disconnected as when i moved the switch it didn't feel like it was moving anything, bezel for the ac and heater is also missing. So will be purchasing a new one and pulling out the controls to figure out the issue.

It is an auto on the floor and the shifter is very loose, lots of side to side shake and back and front shake. Is this a simple fix? Just tightening it up somewhere or do I need to replace some kind of bearings?

Starter issues, posted in the older 4Runner section about it. New starter, engine ground, cables look new. But sometimes trying to start her she just clicks and will not start. Guessing starter relay.

Other than these couple of issues everything is pretty much perfect. A little time and elbow grease and I'll have a very nice little 4x4 for myself finally.
