oil in radiator
hi i am a newbie. i have a 95 4runner sr5 4wd a/t. i have oil in my radiator. i read some threads and i think it is a head gasket. i checked with toyota and my vin is not on the recall list so i am s.o.l. i do not however have water in my oil or tranny fluid. could it possibly be something else (hopefull but doubtful).. also if i drain the oily rad. fluid and put new rad. fluid in will it then get into the engine? any help of ideas would be great. thanks.

Does the Engine oil look milky?
no it always looks normal.

More then likely yes HG blew. The coolant can go into oil or oil can go into the coolant. Mine blew at 154K, pin hole leak into one of the cylinders. Have you over heated?
i would never know the temp guage never goes above the half way point but sometimes the engine does hint that it is overheating ie valve chatter at 55 or 60mph and that hot hot engine smell when i get out of the truck. also my oil pressure guage has never gotten above the halfway point.

i think it is the head gasket. i think i have always known it but been in denial. i have a mechanic at the stealership that has been reliable so far and does side work. it is just getting the miney together to do it

thanks for your replies. have a good day!
I understand the denial part, but you will feel better after it is done. good luck, lots of good info on here. Which I would have known about YT before my HG blew. Welcome by the way
thanks kmcc. yeah i know i will feel better once it is done, but it is just "getting to the getting it done" part that is painful but i am patient. thanks again!
oh one other question, when i buy the parts to fix the HG where should i get them from, NAPA or stealership?
