Trying to figure it out, Ive seen some threads that talk about a G# on the vin tag, but I dont see it... Any tips?

Wut? Your doing something wrong. Look for a code that starts with a "g" You should have at least a 410s

code reads as a 470. but that should be a code for 94 and up.

JohnVH 12-05-2011 10:38 AM

You got me, thats a pic of it, title says its a '92, confusing.

snobdds 12-05-2011 10:39 AM

I have never heard of 4.70 gears, let alone a 3.15 gear set.

Only factory gear set up's I know of are:
4:10
4:30
4:56
4:88

Then in the aftermarket you can get:
5.29
5.70

I think you have 4:10...

Are you telling time? Haha. They are written ad 4.10:1, 4.56:1 etc. And there are a lot more than that.

Wellp, Im stumped. Looks like you might have 3.15s. That sux. Hopefully someone else chimes in with some different information.

I am only talking about factory installed gears on a truck/4runner platform only.

Am I telling time? It's all symantics...you knew what I was talking about

Follow the instructions on how to spin and count on the link.
Easy enough. Take off your shoes if ya gotta. :hillbill:

Worst case use the VIN at a dealership and look up what came in it.
