Light wont' stop blinking

Hi, another member of the club here:
Inital problem:
When today I pushed the 4wd button on neutral the light with the 4 wheels and yellow in the middle only started blinking and the 4x4 did not even engage , now that light won't stop blinking. I have tried all the tricks I read on the book, driving straight ahead, accelarating, driving in reverse, but the light just won't go off.
If I push the 4wd button again, is just doesn't do anything and it would just keep blinking. I don't know what else to do. Any suggestions folks? Thanks

After reading a lot of posts, it looks like my problem is the front diff sensor. I am willing to change it, but I only see part number for 99's. Does anybody know the part number for a 2001? Is it one or two diff sensor? And if, by any chance have pics or instructions of how to change it? Thanks

Update: I got the part number:84222-12010, I just would need instructions of pictures how to change it. Thanks

Ok, I just came back from the Toyota dealer, they did the diagnostic and told me my problem is that 4wd actuator is stuck and needs to be replaced. Cost is : $800 for labors and parts. I 've been reading a lot of post here and still think that is more likely one of the tcase or differential sensor.
I read the thread: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/2...broken-198944/, and my 4wd is not stuck, it never engaged and don't heard any grinding.
What do you guys recommend now?

Hres a pic of where the actuator is:

Read this

especially #4 and 5, it will explain how to test the actuator. If the actuator is good... you need to do more reading here:

http://ncttora.com/fsm/1996/SIL/fsm/repair.html these pages are all from the 96-2002 4runner fsm, so it should apply to ur rig.
