Just did a valve job on my cylinder head, and am wondering if there is a best lubricant to use for the valves in the guides? What oil would be bad? Why? Could 3 in 1 work, or would it not hold up to the temperature? Thoughts?

I used a Permatex Assembly Lube when I did my HG. I used this on the rockers and cam bearings.

The best I've found is to slather it with STP Oil Treatment~

/me lolz @ lumpy... and all the replies.

luddite20: puttin up flame bait? ... or you don't know how engines work?
either way, you're not looking good here.... If you know how to lap valves, you know what to do and what needs done... and if you didn't know what to do, you read enough to learn what to ask about so...
... meh.
