Is it not OBD II? OBD II (OBD 2) scanners can be found on eBay for cheap, or many auto parts stores can scan for free.
edit: To translate: If you have a smartphone, there are apps that can translate using the camera. Some phrases might be a little off ("hot gasses" instead of "exhaust", for example), but you should be able to find what you need. I think it'll also work with Windows 10, the Microsoft translation app, and a webcam. |
BTW.... regular scanners may not work on the early OBD2 Toyotas...
My 06 Hilux engine is OBD2 protocol: ISO 14230 (M-OBD ISO-9141) my scnner will not read this. however, Toyota was forced to comply with American sold vehicles after OBD2 was adopted, but I am not sure when. you will have to search the interwebs for the OBD2 protocol, then find a scanner that can read it. found this: https://www.zasttra.com/pages/list-o...patible-toyota |
