Timing difference between 93 & 91

I have a 93 pickup 3.0 v6 I've been stumped with. I bought another engine for it. It is out of a 91 model. Is there any differences in the timing setups with the idler pulleys?

one is spring and one is mechanical i do believe.

I jst figured that out. Thank you tho. Do you know if the belts are different lengths and a diagram on how it is routed. I've been stumped for 3 hrs straight on this thing.

i have put 2 links here one is for the fsm for most toyotas, and the other is directly to the timing belt and how it all goes,

Thanks. That was the manual I have as well. But the engine going in has the spring.

mine has the spring and the spring goes from the pulley on the passenger side to a hook on the top of the water pump i just had mine all apart but i didn't take any pics i think ill look to make sure,

Ok. I'll go try it and fill you in thanks again.

Ok so I don't have anywhere on my water pump to hook it. But I did get it put on and my belt put on and close. Still gotta tinker a bit. Any ideas on tension?

justin_4runner 01-25-2012 10:21 PM

there is a bolt right above the roller or next to it on the side close to the pulley that the spring goes to, that a bracket bolts to and the spring will pull off the pulley to that bracket
