hey guys, got some seafoam, and i needed to know where the pcv hose is. i tried posting in another thread and searching a little bit, but no good pictures. any help is appreciated. thanks guys

Pcv or right off the brake booster. I've done off the brake booster a few times. On my pickup I know the pcv hose is really stiff.
Do the oil, and gas first.. then use the remaining seafoam and slowly pour it in the vac. Line.. then when you're almost out, start pouring it in heavily to let it kill the engine. Wait 15 minutes, restart it, and enjoy the smoke show.

Hey XXX, can seafoam be used to clean the EGR? If so how? (I heard a friend of a friend say he did it...)

no, that's the front crank case vent, the one in the back goes to the pvc. The hose should go right from the intake manifold to the pcv valve.

You can put seafoam in ANY intake/vacuum hose.

Do what Peow recommended.

There are several youtube vidoes on Seafoaming - same technique on other cars, it's not model specific.

Use 2 cans - about $9 each.

Do oil and gas treatment first, then, as he said, pull off the brake booster hose while truck is running and SLOWLY siphon the seafoam through the vacuum hose into the intake manifold....your engine will shake violently. You want to suck the seafoam at a rate that ALMOST makes your truck die, but doesn't. When you get to the last ounce or two of seafoam, dump it all into the vacuum hose - this should kill your engine....if it doesn't turn it off right away and let it sit for a while before starting again. When you start it again, take it for a spin and try to keep the RPMs high - you will put out a LOT of white smoke - that's normal - this is all the crap you removed, getting "evicted" from your truck :)

Just don't go too crazy on the revs :)

Actually, the smoke is from an oil additive in the Seafoam...

dug up my old 22r parts don't know if your efi or not but I also snapped a pic of my 3.0 locationto just in case.

maybe someone can identify the hose location from the parts i slapped together

I used the hose that runs off the throttle body back to the charcoal cannister when I did my 22RE:

Why? It is long (so can easily reach the can of cleaner), it is easy to find (hooked to the "P"urge port on the TB):

It is small, so easier to control the SeaFoam flow without sucking in the whole can in 2 seconds and it is way up front in the intake, so spreads the material over everything down stream.

If you spray anything in the throttle body, unplug your TPS (throttle position sensor) first. Or better yet, just skip that part completely.

One of the videos shows the guy spraying all kinds of seafoam throttle body cleaner straight into the throttle body without disconnecting anything. This is not advisable unless you wanna spent $100+ on a new TPS.

I'm not convinced that Seafoam crap actually DOES anything. But all that white smoke sure is impressive. And you feel better about yourself and your car maintenance skills afterwards, for whatever that's worth (20 bucks a can?).

Just use the brake booster hose like you're supposed to, right where it attaches to the brake booster, and you'll get a ton of white smoke, I guarantee it.

Actually the seafoam is okay. It decarbonizes some parts of your engine. I know, because there was a black soot mark on my driveway when I was done doing my bronco. (Or it was running rich, either way lol)

If you want a REALLY clean engine, ill show you the inside of my 22r. Not a spec of sludge, or any of that rocker bronzing that I see so frequently.
Its called castrol GTX high mileage, and half a quart of ATF. Guaranteed to clean out your engine sludge.
