Project just about finished...

Well, I've been yakking about this one for a while, and I finally got it....well...mostly done...save for some bottom brackets...

The bags I put in are 6" diameter, with an 8 inch height. Firestone industrial air springs part # w01-358-3400.

Total cost for this one is around the $600 CDN or so mark, here's the breakdown:

Bags: $250 (with the discount I got from work) Firestone industrial air springs
Bag Mounts: $170 (would have been cheaper if I would have used 2X4 inch
square tubing)
Welding: $100 including materials
Fittings and hose: $30 - 40
Portable Air Tank about $50 with other odds and ends for adapting

On with the Pictures:

0419081911.jpg: After the bags went in and added about 30 lbs of air to each. I can drive around (on pavement in WINNIPEG) with 80 lbs worth to get a few more inches height. It's a really rough ride though.

img241.jpg: This is the air bag with the mount at the top. Still working on finding some steel tubing for the bottom though. At 35 lbs it's wedged tight enough it doesn't move.

So anyone got any opinions or ideas for me. I'm looking at doing the same sort of thing in the front end....IFS is going to be a bit harder though....
