Sometimes a battery is so dead it will not take a charge. If you don't have testing tools take it out and take it to Advance Auto and have them test it. If you need a new one google for a coupon. My son just used one of their on line coupons last week and ordered online. The clerk installed it but he saved $30 with the coupon. If the battery is okay I'm guessing it's the alternator.

I got a battery at Costco today for $75 (48 month warranty on an Interstate)! I put it in and was able to get it to start, but it still struggled with the cold-start issues like before.

I believe it is a problem of not getting enough fuel. Could it be the cold start injector? I need to have my wiring harness rebuilt; Does anyone know anything about that?

I would like to be able to move on to other problems

Hard to say. The best way to know is to test the cold start injector and the cold start time switch. In addition to the FSM, this info from LCE might be helpful - http://www.lcengineering.com/LCNewsl...tart_Tech.html

Saw a write-up here that showed a method for repairing passenger seat cables with bicycle brake cables and knarps. It sort-of worked, but I think I need to clean up the clasper springs in order for it to work effectively; they're pretty dirty.

Picked up an upgraded Pro-Forged idler arm from 4Crawler with the bronze bushings.

Could not get the idler arm loose to save my life. Heated it, beat on it with a hammer, sprayed it with PB Blaster, cut the rubber away so that I could try to squeeze my idler arm puller in there, and nothing worked. Finally got a little pry bar in there and it lifted out immediately; barely even had to touch it. The right angle with some leverage makes a world of difference.

Picked up some outer tie rod ends from Moog. I have heard good things about them and they did come with grease fittings, so that was nice. The castle nuts on my old outers were two different sizes lol.

That looks better. Took it to Costco to get tires (33x10.5R15 BFG AT KO2) and then got an alignment after for $55 with a special that Big O was running.

New Dorman clutch pedal so that my foot doesn't slip off when my shoes are snowy.

6" Kenwood speakers in the back where a PO had cut holes in the panel.

Current Work: My right front brake caliper is sticking. I can't tell if it is a warped rotor, seized piston, or a rotor that was warped because of a seized piston. Current plan is to do new calipers and brake lines and then do pads and rotors if that still doesn't fix the problem.

Good work. I thought Costco would only put stock tire size on a vehicle, how did you get them to put 33s?

I'm not sure. The guys working there were really laid back and didn't seem like they cared much  The one tire tech was talking to me about his trail-built XJ and the XJ that I used to own too; cool guy

They installed 33s at my local location too. I've never heard that they would only do factory sizes. Nice work Pabst!

That'll be awesome! Do you have a build thread? If not, you'll have to let me know how you like it

No crank in cold weather

For the no crank in cold weather it could be that the ignition switch contacts are worn out. I had the same thing happen to me last year.
