Nice info another options when keeping ifs but looking for more travel and not just a bracket lift would be a long arm kit.

has any body ever made a home made legit lift kit on the cheap for ifs

If only they had a 2wd kit, but I think I've read that it's not economically viable for them to do. Oh well, looks like I'm gonna be saving up for a kit from TC. I'm not sure I'm keen on dropping more money on the front suspension than I'll be dropping on the rest of the truck, but if I must, I must, I want to FLY!

That said, if anyone knows of anyone else who makes a 2wd long travel kit, I'm sure the few of us here with 2wd would appreciate knowing. I think downey made one, but my google-fu is not turning up much more than lift spindles and TC kits.

i knew of a guy where im from that built lifts for ifs trucks but mainly chevy s10 they were extreme and usually 8 inchs or better and i seen a 12 inch on a s10 it kinda looked wierd with the huge drop down brackets and trans and transfer cas hanging low to keep the driveline right i can try to see if he is still around but he was reasonable but dont know if he still performs this service as ohio is a bitch of a state for 4x4 guys as far as the long arm kits for a 2wd im thinking lc engineering might have some but you might hafta call or buy a catalog

I've got a 91 pickup, 4wd.
I don't want to SAS.
I'm over 230k on the stock suspension, and its pretty worn. I'd like to replace all 4 shocks, the steering damper, the torsion bars, the leaf springs, the swaybar bushings, the ball joints, and the various bushings and bits in between. Ideeally there'd be a kit, or at least a single vendor, that I could get all those bits from. The closest I've come is NWOR, (no shipping, I can drive there easy), but they're getting a lot of negative press on here...

I'm not looking for a lift for clearances. I'm looking to do a modest upgrade when I do a mandatory replacement of my current suspension..I've heard the stock T bars don't like big tires, and I have 32's. Can someone recommend a vendor? A kit? There are so many choices and I am very new to this game. Any ideas with a modest budget, say 1500 max?

yes, I assume a firestone lifetime alignment will probably need to be factored into my total cost, but I can otherwise do this in a weekend, more comfortable on the front than the rear, as leaf springs are totally foreign to me (used to working on coils/shocks, not this tractor suspension :D )

im stoked. i got my blazeland grand slam kit in today. i still need to get shocks and torsion bars thohhh. and i need the rear lift kit also. man i cant wait!!! i got a mc 1200 lb competition clutch coming tomorrow too...lol

sweet man dont forget to take pics when ya start up doing your project . I jus got a stock clutch cause ill swap the tranny this winter with the 4.3 jus need something to last until then. Did it come with the piloit bearing if not you might want to replace it
