Negative terminal ground

Where does this bolt to? Not it's not the short one that bolts to engine bay by battery. Come straight from negative terminal extending about 2 feet. Can't figure it out

Any place on the engine block it will reach.

Then I got rid of those tiny cables first thing.

Thanks, so ac bracket will work?

I would prefer the engine block but AC Bracket would work. Also there is a jumper that goes from the frame to the block as the motor mount is a rubber and would isolate the ground from the frame and block.

For a minor upgrade, in your picture above, you have a ground wire on each side of your fuse box. One is ground for the battery and the other is ground for the head light. I move the headlight ground right to the battery ground. Just something I do and thought I would mention it. You just need to loosen the fuse box and cut the wiring cover a little bit to make it happen.

I believe the stock location of that wire is to the upper plenum. One of the egr bolts hold mine.
But the point is to ground the block ss mentioned above.

Thanks for your replys. Bolted straight to block under ac compressor. And no the ground that bolts to plenum comes straight from harness.

Terry what ground do you speak of? I currently have:
-the one at rear of head
-negative terminal to block
-harness to plenum
-harness to alternator
-positive terminal to starter

Am I missin anything else?
Terry thanks for headlight tip! Will do

Very bottom front corner of block, on passenger side, correct?

This is on an 85 and is the long cable. I have seen a short cable about 8 inches long but basically has the same purpose. I have the ground that is connected to the battery which is above the rubber in the motor mount.

The other cable is below the rubber in the motor mount and goes to the body. I have seen the newer trucks just have an 8 inch jumper going from the top of the motor mount to the bottom of the motor mount basically jumpering the rubber. Either way would give the same results with a long or short cable.

I think in hind sight and something I am going to do later on is instead of having the long cable coming from the bottom of the motor mount to the body is do the shorter jumper so that is in a more direct contact with the battery ground cable.

Yessir, is that where it belongs?

Terry I get what you're saying now, I don't recall ever seeing anything like you've mentioned but I will definitely look into it. Thanks a lot
