How to remove the distributor?

Well, my distributor is bent and cracked, and I got another one, I just can't figure out how to remove the old one... (22re btw)

Any help would be appreciated

car crashes suck

Your dizzy is BENT and CRACKED? What the hell did you hit it with?!

What motor are you working on?

Both the 22RE and the 3VZE are removed in the same manner. Unplug all the plug wires, and the wiring connector going to the distributor, then loosen and remove the 12MM bolt that secures it to the block, and wiggle it out. Very easy to do.

pull the 12mm bolt that you use to adjust the timing and it should slide right out. you will want to set the motor to TDC so you can get the new distributor in the right position

or just remember, take a picture, or mark which way the rotor was pointing, and install the new one clocked to the same position

just don't turn the motor over while the distributer's out, or you will definately have to find TDC and go from there...
