I last ran my tank on premium 93 octane with lucas injector cleaner and upper cylinder lubricant. and i got the most ive ever gotten. I have the 22RE and the tank is 17.2 gallons...Ran it until the fuel light came on (which means ~3 gallons is left in the tank) and then i put 3 more in it so that i could get an accurate read without sucking the tank completely dry. It was mostly city driving and the mileage came to around 380mi. I keep it tuned up well, I have a K&N filter and no muffler. and 31s.....so i dont know how that affects the odometer but surely not much. my speed is off by only a few mph.

Wow, my mileage isn't that great compared to you alls. 3VZ-E engine:

Best I've ever done was 270 highway (~75mph)
Normal is about 240-250 highway (~75 mph)

I usually put in a bit over 13 gallons per tank full.

I've never figured my city driving, maybe I'll do that next tank of gas.

Well, have fun all. :)

I get on the throttle more than I really should so I see anywhere from 235-275 a tank which is anywhere from 15.5 to 18.5mpg.

2000t4r 05-28-2005 12:07 PM

Durning the week back and forth to work I get around 250-270 on a full tank. I can never put more than 14 gallons in the tank though.

LOCKnGO 05-28-2005 06:35 PM

My last tank I got 132 miles. 35" rollers and 4:10 gears suck! But then I found out I had a leak in the EGR system that sucks even worse. I can't wait to see what happens when I ommit some of the emisions stuff.

LittleRedToyota 05-28-2005 07:11 PM

i get between 240 and 290 a tank depending on the type of driving i've been doing. don't quite run my tank all the way down...usually put in about 14.5 gallons. so, i get 16 to 21 mpg or so.

22RE 5-spd pickup with a cap on the bed and usually a couple hundred pounds or so of tools/spare parts in the bed.

don't forget, we don't all have the same size tanks...and, if you have bigger than stock tires or different gears, your odometer is prolly off a bit so you might get more miles than you think.

22re 225 miles on a tab over 13 gallons.

What advantage is there to figuring out mileage per tank? I hope nobody runs their tank near-empty to figure out their mileage. Dumb. Nothing like suckin up the crap on the bottom of the tank...

I calculate my mileage at every refill. Because I drive mostly back roads, gas stations are scarce, so I typically fill it sometime after it gets below 1/2 tank (usually about 12 gallons). I average 19.5 mpg this time of year. So, with an 18.1 gallon tank that would work out to 353 miles/tank (which is meaningless to me).

3vz 290-310 mixed (normal tank) or 350-370 all highway

FingerMan20 05-29-2005 02:10 PM

Well i put in ~14 gallons the other day, and off that i got about 240 miles. Does anyone know if that is good for my year/mileage? Also, what could I do to bump that up a bit? As far as I know, the truck has original everything(including, but not limited to axle fluids, fuel filter, and as far as I can tell, no maintenance on the engine/injectors or anything, EVER).

If your numbers are accurate, you're only getting a little over 17 mpg, which is lower than any of my last 24 fill-ups have gotten me. My minimum mpg was 17.5 and my best was 23.9.

2000 4Runner 4WD 2.7 4.556 gears 5 speed manual -

Generally get about 280-300 between fills w/ 4 gallons left.

Went 370 on a tank once, all higway 24.8 mpg.

Wow...what are your driving habbits? I've been calculating my MPG on each fill up, and recently my best was a little over 17 mpg. Have a 00 4Runner 2WD 2.7 auto. I don't drive fast or accelerate hard. Something just doesn't seem right...

4mydogs 05-31-2005 05:35 AM

Stock 3.0 usually stop-and-go driving, I start looking for gas around 230-240 miles. I average 16 mpg. Best mileage I ever got on a trip was 19.

paranoidandroid 06-01-2005 03:15 PM

i started out at 18-19 mpg on a 97 w/ 2.7 4cyl. After seafoam it stayed the same initially, then went up about 1 mpg a month. I'm finally up to 21 mpg, so around 300miles at 14 gallon fill-up

paranoidandroid 06-01-2005 03:16 PM

oh yeah, also cleaned the MAF, O2 sensors, and replaced air filter and spark plugs/wires too. no sudden improvement after changing any of those though
