Clutch installation - backwards?
Installing autozone clutch on my 1989 22re 4runner. Is there a certain way the disc has to go in and how do I know which way is the right way? I noticed one side is flatter the other side has the inner disc with the springs is raised. Also, in another post I asked about oil in the bellhousing. I did the rear seal, should I do the front trani seal also?
Thanks! |
autozone clutch? why autozone? why not OE?
and while u have the tranny down, id do all seals down there, just for peace of mind. |
Autozone is Duralast and it was because I was cheap and in a rush. Has a lifetime warranty on it. I'll do the front trani seal while I have it out. Did the rear main already. Still need advice on the clutch disc.

i am pretty sure the disk will only fit one way. with the disk middle side with the step goes out towards the pressure plate.

Regarding the orientation of the disc, it should be marked on one side. If not, generally the flattest side goes toward the flywheel and the taller side toward the pressure plate like cchinny said. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...utch-disc1.jpg |
