Broken antenna
My FM/AM radio antenna is broken. I still get a signal but the antenna itself is very loose, and the sound is full of static. Has anyone done a replacement of this and would like to share advice? Do you have to remove the fender, or just go up through the wheel well? Any help is appreciated!:bllama:

x2 on this question.
Mine had been bent back for a long time and finally broke off. How do you get to the thing, and are any bolt-on flexible replacement antennas available that fit the stock hole? I have an 86 pickup. |
Remove the plastic liner inside the wheel well. The bolts that hold the antenna in place are then accessible. This is for a power antenna. The top of the fender part of the antenna also has a special nut to remove to allow the antenna shaft to drop down into the area where you removed the plastic liner. Hardest part is re-routing the cable back into the cab.
