Bearing replacement, seal orientation...???

I'm doing a bearing replacement and complete break job, 89 xtracab 3.0, 4x4 5 speed. Wasn't really paying attention when I pryed the hub seals out...I'm wondering which way the seal goes back in, with the tension spring of the seal towards the outside of the hub or the inside. All help appreciated, thanks!

Or to make it easier, the spring facing the tire or the front diff.....

Spring faces tire. Flat side of seal to diff.

It appears both sides of the seal are flat. They are timken seals btw...

The side with the spring can't be flat.

The side opposite the spring has a raised rubber portion that sits slightly higher....

In any case, the spring side goes toward your freshly greased bearing.
