As far as I know, the carb and blower wiring are completely different circuits and totally unrelated. Probably a fuse, though, or something to affect the whole circuit. If it was just the relay, you'd lose a speed or 2, but full speed would still work. Most instances, anyhow. Hopefully not the motor, I would seriously check fuses, and even if they look good, try moving some around. I've had them look ok, but be bad.

Yeah, though I kind of doubt it's the switch. Never know, but I'd be checking fuses first, then tracing as much wiring as I can, since those are the cheapest to fix if it's them.

i checked the fuses for the heat and it they weren't blown so im guessing its the blower motor which i found on the right side behind the glovebox and looks easy enough to get to and remove, its only $30 at the local auto parts store so ill get that and install it soon and give you guys an update after that

also, yesterday the truck was running fine after installing the fpr, i did a quick full throttle run to show a friend and it died again and sucked to get home, to keep it from acting up i had to leave it in first and go 10-15mph with my hazards on. any ideas for whats wrong with it now?

pulled the plugs and they were completely black so yes its running way to rich and i will re jet soon
|
Well at least you know you don't have a vacuum leak!
|
got new jets and installed, retuned and it still dies like before, any ideas? itll go from 0-40 fine then it starts cutting out
|
so the jets i replaced were the main and air correctional ones, i cannot find smaller idle jets online anywhere, anyone know where to look?
|
LC engineering has a full selection, though they have sent me the wrong jet before. Some Napa stores can get them, but the one I used to go to in OR had an air cooled VW nut working there as the manager, so...who knows.

truck seems to be working pretty well now, except still no heat or fan working. I checked the fuses and they look fine, replaced the blower motor and still nothing. went to the auto parts store and they said its the resistor, i ordered it and will have it in a couple of days. it is a 1986 toyota pickup carbuerated without a/c. i ordered the normal resistor, not the heavy duty resistor, is this the right one? also any ideas on what else i should check

update: I ended up taking it too a shop, timing 18 degrees off, bad gasket seals on the carb, fuel pump was out. went through 3 fuel pumps in 4 weeks before the shop dropped the gas tank, full of nasty stuff, blew out the fuel lines, sock in the fuel tank was all busted off so it was removed. works great now! did a 2inch hockey puck body lift and fender trimming, extended shackles, 1.5 inch bj spacers and torsion bars cranked, fit 33s with rubbing. getting 31s soon instead
