So I pulled my shifter boot on my 1985 toyota pickup SR5 to start the process for dual cases with tipple sticks.

My whole set up seems to be more to the passenger side(see pics) is this normal? I know my transfer-case and motor mounts should be replaced. My body mounts look good and straight. Anyone else have this issue?

Hey thanks for the reply.

I have two new t-case mounts to go with my duals all ready,

I decided I am going to stay with rubber mounts as I drive this truck a lot for on road reason. I will be adding a chain however to make sure my duals dont rip them in half.

I was looking at the auto zone duralast mounts and after several reviews read on them I think The extra money would be worth the OEM ones after all, the OEM ones lasted 28 years as it is.

With that being said

After searching for mounts here

Right hand mounts are un-avalible, will left hand work for both sides? or any better place to buy OEM mounts?

Greg_Canada 07-25-2013 05:38 PM

For my 3vz, both mounts were identical. Unsure of 22remounts tho, sorry.

I tried to do some searching I think they are I might just have to make or bore out a hole

bryy 07-26-2013 06:57 AM

Anyone?

Try posting in the 86-95 forum, WAY more people there that would know.

You should be able to use a rh mount on the left hand side unless you have the bar attached to your right hand mount in which case a lh mount will have to have a hole drilled in itAttachment 156222

The left and right mounts are the same. You can reuse the bracket shown in the photo above. I removed my mounts without taking the brackets off of the block.

Of course, that may have been because they had completely separated and pretty much fell apart once I got them unbolted. :hillbill:

Btw what dose that braket hook up too? None of our other motor mount/trucks have it

That bracket bolts to the engine block on the passenger side. It's not technically a part of the engine mount (as in, if you buy a replacement engine mount, you don't get that bracket with it). You can see it above the bell-like-shield of the engine mount here, with the oil filter peaking out from behind.

Well that makes good sense ill just order two from the same side. And check and see what exactly I have going on. Down there

Ocell 07-26-2013 09:08 PM

I just looked at your Toyota Parts Zone link. Are talking about the $80-something part? I think that might be the metal bracket and not the rubber mount. You might want to call them before ordering and check. That's way too expensive for just the mount.

It would also explain why they list one for the right and one for the left. The brackets on each side are different.

Isn't the bar a support for the intake manifold?

When I throw that part number online all I get is pictures of knock of cheaper rubber mounts.
