1985 GREEN 4runner

Hey guys, been a minute since ive posted on here. Figured I had better start a thread for thing like I did for my last 2. Purchased in september of 2017, 173k on it at the time. This is my daily driver and only vehicle at the moment. I will try and backlog all stuff I have done over the last couple years

Around this time it started to leak oil from the front main seal, so i replaced the oil pump, water pump, sleeved the crank for new front main seal, resealed the oil pan, and replaced a still functional alternator

Strip it all down, and have the machine shop do its thing. Then I would like to do the rebuild myself. May look at upgrading some components of the head while I am at it. Im thinking ill keep the boost around 7-10psi. Need to decide on an exhaust manifold and turbo and whether or not to intercool it, and a mega squirt system

Sweet, I was wanting to do the convert years ago but never pulled the trigger, came across this page:

https://people.well.com/user/mosk/

A bit dated but good info:)

sweet man, ride is killer!!! Can’t wait to see some turbo!!

nadakai 09-10-2019 04:15 PM

Thanks for that info! Some good stuff in there for sure. I have a feeling the turbo will be on the backburner for a little bit. Right now the 4runner is down. I broke it when I was starting the gauge swap and a bit ashamed of myself for it. I will post some pics and let you guys try and figure it out!

Shouldn't be too hard to ezi-out that butt.

nadakai 09-10-2019 04:32 PM

Yes, that's what I was thinking. BUTT the problem is its location. It is close enough to the frame I cannot fit a drill there, and had no luck with a 90 degree adapter either.

Shouldn't need to drill it. Just gotta have the exactly correct ezi-out.

I like the Proto square type extractor for work like this. I've even used the tang of an old file, ground just right.
