Moonroof Pictures Request help
2 Attachment(s)
Hello Everyone,
I need a little help in regard to an 1983 Toyota Pickup moonroof. We swapped the entire moonroof from another 1983 truck, but we are missing some pieces. When we lift up the glass, the entire glass portion moves back. There seems like there are some stoppers or hinges at the front bottom area of the glass that hold the glass from sliding back. If someone can post or send me some pictures of this area in question, that will be greatly appreciated. I can't find pictures online between the glass and the roof of the cab for reference. Hopefully I can find theses pieces in the garage or we will have to make a custom stopper. I attached 2 videos below. |
Give this a try & have a look at the diagram. Maybe you can find what you need here.

Thanks 13Swords. I will check it out.

I looked that the website you gave me and that is a great resource to have.
Thanks 123Swords! I think I am looking for Part Number 63273-17040 and 63274-17040. But if anyone can take a picture of that area of the roof, just to confirm this is the part I need, that will be great. I tried searching the part number in a google search and couldn't find a real photo, only the drawing. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.yot...d5b42bc0d9.jpg I think this is the stopper but not 100% sure. Hopefully someone can send me a photo of this area of the roof. |

Hi Slacker,
Thanks for the pictures. I don't know the name of this piece, but it is this metal clip that I am missing. Would this be called "deflector clips"? https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.yot...632aad4281.jpg Here is my brother truck and the area where it does not have that hinge. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.yot...dc339a2893.jpg This is what holds the glass down and not move back as much. Where is this piece located in the image below? https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.yot...0d3d93bc2c.jpg |
#63209 in that diagram " clip" #63227 is what the deflector hooks to so it folds out of place when the glass is removed or up

I don't believe that hinge is a "replaceable " part
what actually holds the roof in place , is the back handle |
Thanks Slacker, for your help. I was able to find the 2 clips in the garage. The person who sold the roof assembly accidentally ripped off those clips when he removed it from the salvage truck. Luckily we were able to find them with your photos.
We also found this other piece that is part of the roof assembly, but neither the seller and I know where it goes. The seller says it is part of the roof, but doesn't remember where it goes. Does your truck roof have a pick-like piece on it? I circled it in the picture. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.yot...d51cda7f21.jpg Found the clips https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.yot...519492759d.jpg This pick-like piece is what we are now stuck on. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.yot...8ac4ddfb1d.jpg Here is the roof assembly as of right now. The clips and pick-like piece seems to be welded or riveted to the roof. That is why there are new sheet metal welded to the roof. |
yes .. those other clips go onto the glass roof .. should be 2 I believe , Left and right .. they clip into a spring clip , as like a limit strap for the glass you can see in this pic ..

did you hook up the water drains ?
|
Hi Slacker,
Yeah, all four water drains have been hooked up and cleared out. Again, thanks for your help. I would have gone crazy looking for something that I don't even know what it look like in the garage. Now we can continue and prep the truck for paint. |
