Thanks Vitod. Unfortunately the 78 uses glass fuses all in a line. Guess I'll have to do it the old fashioned way (pull each fuse one by one and see what turns off)

Best advise I can give you is to get a hold of the wiring schematics for both the 82 and 84(ish) and compare. Since you've got an internal regulator now you probably will have to modify the truck...

Whoops, just noticed you mention the rotor pointing at #1. Check for the t-chain and then I'd try cranking while turning distributor. If still no start there are other problems.
