I have a question if you don't mind me asking - In this post:
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/f.../#post51586876 you mentioned about the brake cable breaking right at the handle of the parking brake lever...
This just happened with my '88 2wd . I stopped by my friendly auto mechanic I know the owner of (not an actual toyota dealer, try not to go there first for some things as I'm pretty financially challenged) and we went to look up a part to replace it, and were unsure about the mechanism on the fire wall in the engine compartment - does it come apart to allow for easy replacement of the cable... (kinda like a bicycle cable or something similar) I haven't torn it apart but from what I could tell, and those guys at the garage all thought its just snapped right at the handle just as yours.
Any advice you could lend would be greatly appreciated; I actually made an account to send this message seeking some sort of help.
