    It may be part of it but i found when i had my weber was the spring is needed and the issues were mainly related to the Air fuel screw. I eventually threw a wideband O2 on it and spent some time tuning that and the timing and I have to say it was the best thing i did. Not only was the power smoother and the MPG better but it had way more power then it did just throwing the carb on. Id say that the return spring is a good start.

    hey, I just installed a 38 weber on my 85 22R. Its nice, but kinda jerky when i hit the gas coming into a new gear...it shocks the truck. Is this a return spring issue, I don't think I have one on there.
