Oh and to answer the spool locker question...it makes your axle fully locked all the time, so wears tires on the street BAD..and chirps tires around corners and so on...

Nope nothing...ive had 5.29's in the same truck (just the rear) and I barely used 1st on the street.. I dunno about Offroad I never got the front before I broke the r&p, when I do upgrade it'll prolly be 4:88's and 4.7s in the tcase

Hey Dbcfr, first wanna thank you for trying to help me! I really appreciate it! But yes! I am looking to spend my money wisely! But I have to keep in mind it is my daily driver but I wanna be able to go in the woods and get in sone good mud! Climb some hills! And get over any obstacles! I would like to get some stretch! Some good flex! So ill tell ya..

I got the axle off an 85 toyota, im cleanin that up, gonna paint it, then hopefully get it on this weekend, my friend is doing it for fairly cheap, he has done plenty others as well. And im lifting the front a couple inches, I need to to clear my 35's better..but im going over there tomorrow and gonna ask him qbout re gearing it as well..how much that would cost..cuz I would like to get some more power, so gearing it to 5 29's would be good you say? For DD and offroad? How mych do you think regearing to 5 29s would be? Like to buy the gears? And I wanted to put a, locker in the back after a while, what would you suggest for locker

Have you given any thought to just regearing what you have and wheeling it for a while in other words leave it IFS change the gears to 5:29 and put a rear locker in it....then gearing the transfer case to 4.7 and take your time with building up your front axle to do the SAS down the road a year or so..to do a sas right costs big $$$$ to spec out my front axle on my 86 it cost well over $3000 just for the axle build thats before the $1000 fot the SAS kit plus the time that was spent on the labor/fab work....before I did my SAS I wheeled for 2 years on a geared IFS truck with lockers front/rear and transfer case gears 4.7s with a twin stick so I could have 2wd low and that was on 31" and I could go on most any trail... you will have to learn to drive/4wheel good but it's good learning that will help you when you do take the plung and SAS and go play on 5+ rated trails...
