I happened to stummbled upon your question on Death's profile page. I just wanted to add to the trapted air idea. Air can be trapted within the heater hoses, the heater elements as well as pocket areas in the block sometimes. Simply burping the coolant hoses in the front can't always force the air trapted in places on the back of the motor or in the heater lines. The only way to remove all air from the system is to vacuum it out. Shops have the machines for this job (their name is escaping me) and I would suggest looking into it.

Also, I don't believe Death has seen your response because you replied to him on your own profile page. He would not get a notification that you responded unless you wrote on his profile page.

    Hope your issue gets resolved.

I burped it with the cap off and waited for the level to drop as the air bubbles came up, but then as it starts to get hot(the coolent) it starts overflowing in spurts, almost like a little explosion, i went through alot of coolent, and let it do this many time and refilled it. Still no luck. Which heater hose do i take off then put back on.

And this coolent is boiling hot, steaming hot. Can conduction get it this hot?

Thanks for your help. I just got done doing a hg job on it and replaced everything, water pump, t-stat, pulleys, belts, timing belt, ect.

But i am waiting for a fan shroud to come in because mine shredded to pieces. Could this be the problem? would lack of a shroud make it overheat that bad?

If the hose is squeezing itself, you have air in there. It needs to be burped. Coolant can get hot from conduction, so even if the coolant is warm it may not be moving.
