Junkers, Juan here from Chicago. I've been looking at a first gen 4runner and I found yours. Through my research, you sold yours to bob9 who kept it for just over a year. He then sold it to a guy in Mi. who has it for sale in just under a year. I looked at a bunch of your old threads to read about your truck...mods, problems and such. When I saw it on Kalamazoo Craigslist I had remembered seeing on here. I googled 1989 4runner for sale bob9. That took me to ih8mud and bob9's for sale ad. He apparently did quite a bit. I think he had problems with it as to why he got rid of it. The guy now claims a rebuild but has nothing to prove it and bob9's ad says 257000 and nothing about a rebuild. In the tone of his voice I can read that he is probably having issues with it. The body looks great. What were your main issues? What condition did Bob9 get it in? Was there issues that needed attention then that perhaps he couldn't find that maybe still exist?
    Thanks Junkers

Permission to quote your words in my sig?

-- I don't use motor oil. I took a small picture of Chuck Norris and taped it to the dipstick so it sits in the oil pan. The motor is too scared not to run right, even cured that idle problem. --

    Haha

Going for 33's eh? I actually ran that size after I installed my 4" bracket lift and geezus did they look small. I'm betting that you'll be just fine. Birdbrain just put 33's on his 2nd gen runner and only had typical rubbing up front at full lock. IIRC he doesn't have a lift or it's just BJ's up front... I've got those american racing wheels that are like 4.25" backspace PLUS 1.5 wheel spacers all around. Before the wheel spacers I had 1/4" ones up front and I adjusted the steering stops out a little.

They're gonna rub up front at full lock, stuff em straight and you'll be fine. You could always run 1.5" wheel spacers which will help your stance and help clear the front a little. BUT you'll probably want fender flares depending on the law down there. I HAVE to have them on up here...now they're just tearing my paint up...
