Good luck with the timing chain. Just take your time and do it right the first time. When I did mine I pulled the pan, tc cover, and head. But I had guide pieces in the bottom of the pan and a bad valve so I had to. I got rid of my other first gens because financial trouble but now I have a much better job. This first gen I just bought is my 3rd one and I think its a keeper. It's a 84 SR5 4runner, EVERY option, 134K, $500 bucks! What a steal!!!. For midwest rust I give it a B+. Needs front fenders and rear quarters, rockers and all are fine. Has a lot of minor issues and ran all screwed up. I rebuilt the carb and now it runs purrrrfect.

I still have it it has been off the road all year due to a skipped TC allmost got it back on the road now. I'm trying to find the right early 90 pickup to dd and have the runner for a toy. another firstgen nice hows the rust? and what motor trans setup?
