I have an idle problem with my CJ-7 that sounds similar to some that you've answered questions about. Cold engine, it will barely idle on its own. Warm engine, it idles at little better and can at least keep itself running but is still rough. When I press the brake idle drops very low. Also seems to be slightly worse when put in gear (auto). I've looked for vacuum leaks by spraying carb cleaner around some of the vacuum hoses, and the idle does slightly go up, but it does that almost anywhere I spray it. One last thing and don't know if this is relevant, but it has a 2-barrel on it and with the filter off, I can reach in and close the vents on the carb and the idle picks up some, but can still hear it fluttering.

I also tried one of your tips to press the brake pedal down when I start the engine. When I do that it won't even crank. Let off the brake and it cranks right up.

After all that could this be my brake booster? And if so how can I check?

    Thanks
    Jeremy
