it doesnt happen all the time but it it seems to squeek in lateral movements.
Is this a common problem? it's rather annoying

 

Sometimes. Squirt some silicone spray lube in there using the long extension tube. It'll help short-term. The long-term fix is to remove the bushings (main and end link), then clean and lube with lithium grease inside and out before reinstalling.

 

as in white or black lithium grease? Sorry I have no idea if there is a difference

 

I've only used white. The main thing is to avoid a petroleum based grease.
